- 1 loaf French bread or Italian bread
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place both halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
- In a bowl, mix softened butter and minced garlic. Spread evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheeses over the bread.
- Top with crumbled bacon.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Optional: Broil for 1–2 minutes for a golden top.
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Use pre-cooked bacon to save time.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of Italian seasoning to the butter mix.
- This can be made ahead and baked just before serving.
