Description

Indulge in the comfort of Cheesesteak Tortellini in a rich provolone sauce. Tender beef, caramelized onions, and gooey melted provolone combine with cheese tortellini for an irresistible dish.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • Pasta:
    • 1 package (12 oz) cheese tortellini
  • For the Cheesesteak Filling:
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 large onion, sliced
    • 1 pound beef steak, cubed
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
    • 1 cup beef broth
    • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • For the Sauce:
    • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese

Instructions

  • Cook the Tortellini: Follow the package instructions to cook the cheese tortellini. Drain and set aside.
  • Caramelize the Onion: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until softened and slightly caramelized.
  • Cook the Beef: Add the cubed beef steak to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook for about 6-8 minutes until the beef is browned on all sides and cooked through.
  • Add Broth and Worcestershire: Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine and let the mixture simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  • Make the Sauce: Reduce the heat to low, and sprinkle shredded provolone cheese over the beef mixture. Stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  • Combine with Tortellini: Gently fold the cooked tortellini into the skillet, making sure they are well-coated with the creamy provolone sauce.
  • Serve: Serve immediately, garnished with additional shredded provolone cheese if desired.

Notes

  • If you prefer a creamier sauce, you can add a splash of heavy cream along with the beef broth.
  • For extra flavor, top the dish with freshly ground black pepper or some chopped parsley.
  • This dish pairs well with a light salad or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
