- 2 pounds flank or skirt steak
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (about 1–2 limes)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jalapeño, chopped (optional)
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl or zip-top bag, combine orange juice, lime juice, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, jalapeño, cilantro, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Add steak and coat thoroughly with the marinade. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably 4–6 hours.
- Preheat grill or cast-iron pan over high heat. Remove steak from marinade and pat dry.
- Grill steak 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
Notes
- Marinate overnight for deeper flavor.
- Flank or skirt steak are traditional, but ribeye or sirloin also work well.
- Serve in tacos, burritos, or over rice with salsa and guacamole.
