Description

This Caramel Apple Oatmeal Bake is a cozy, fall-inspired breakfast that’s packed with warm spices, tender apples, and a drizzle of rich caramel. It’s soft, lightly sweetened, and perfect for meal prep or a comforting morning treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

  • Mix dry ingredients

    • In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir well.
  • Combine wet ingredients

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, applesauce, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract.
    • Stir in the diced apples.
  • Assemble the bake

    • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
    • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Add toppings

    • Drizzle caramel sauce over the top.
    • Sprinkle with nuts and raisins if desired.
  • Bake

    • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and set.
  • Serve warm

    • Enjoy as is, or top with extra caramel sauce, yogurt, or whipped cream for added indulgence!

Notes

  • Customize it! Swap apples for pears or add extra spices like ginger or cloves.
  • Make it vegan by using plant-based milk and maple syrup instead of honey.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days; reheat in the microwave for a quick breakfast.
