Description

Caramel Apple Chocolate Bark is the ultimate sweet-and-salty treat, combining layers of smooth semisweet chocolate, gooey caramel, crunchy pretzels, and crisp apple chips. Perfect for holiday gatherings, parties, or simply indulging at home, this easy-to-make dessert is bursting with flavor and texture.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 cup crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 (11-ounce) package caramel bits (such as Kraft®)
  • 1 (3.4-ounce) package apple chips

Instructions

    1. Melt Chocolate: Place 2 cups of chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and melted.
    2. Spread Base Layer: Line a 13×18-inch baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the melted chocolate evenly across the sheet in a thin layer. Allow to cool slightly.
    3. Prepare Caramel: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the caramel bits in 30-second intervals, stirring until bubbling and smooth. Drizzle over the chocolate layer and use a spatula to swirl it evenly.
    4. Add Toppings: While the caramel is still warm, sprinkle pretzels, pecans, and apple chips evenly over the top. Gently press the toppings into the caramel using a large sheet of parchment paper. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
    5. Drizzle Chocolate: Melt the remaining ½ cup of chocolate chips. Transfer to a zip-top bag, snip a small corner, and drizzle over the chilled bark.
    6. Set and Serve: Return to the fridge for 2 to 3 hours until fully set. Break into pieces or cut into squares to serve.

Notes

  • For easier cutting, let the bark sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
  • Customize toppings with additional nuts, seeds, or dried fruit.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
