Description

These homemade broccoli tots are a healthy, kid-friendly alternative to traditional tater tots. Crispy on the outside and tender inside, they’re perfect as a snack, appetizer, or side dish—and a great way to sneak in some veggies!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • :
  • 2 cups finely chopped steamed broccoli (about 1 medium head)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs (or almond flour for low-carb)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray (optional, for baking)

Instructions

  • :
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix all ingredients until well combined.
  • Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and form into small tot shapes.
  • Place tots on the baking sheet and lightly spray with olive oil.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
  • Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • :
  • You can freeze these before or after baking for easy meal prep.
  • Swap cheddar for mozzarella or Parmesan for a flavor twist.
  • Make them gluten-free by using almond flour or gluten-free breadcrumbs.
