Scale
- 4 fresh limes (thin-skinned and juicy preferred)
- 4 cups cold water
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional, to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Lime slices (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Wash limes thoroughly and cut into quarters (leave the peel on).
- In a blender, combine the lime quarters, cold water, and sugar (if using). Pulse 4–5 times—just enough to extract the juice without over-blending the rind.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove pulp and rind bits.
- Stir in the sweetened condensed milk until fully mixed.
- Serve immediately over ice, garnished with lime slices if desired.
Notes
- Use thin-skinned limes to avoid bitterness from the peel.
- Don’t over-blend, or the drink may become bitter.
- Add mint leaves for a fresh twist or swap condensed milk with coconut milk for a dairy-free version.
- Best enjoyed fresh—this drink doesn’t store well due to lime peel oxidation.
