Description

A savory and sweet twist on the classic breakfast combo, this caramelized Spam and eggs recipe features crispy, golden-brown slices of Spam glazed with a brown sugar sauce, paired perfectly with soft scrambled or fried eggs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can Spam, sliced (about 12 oz)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk (optional, for scrambled eggs)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice the Spam into 1/4-inch thick pieces.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add Spam slices and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the Spam and drizzle with soy sauce. Let it cook for another 1–2 minutes until the sugar caramelizes and forms a glaze. Flip once to coat both sides.
  5. In a separate pan, scramble the eggs with milk (if using) or cook them sunny-side up or as desired.
  6. Season eggs with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve caramelized Spam with the cooked eggs on the side.

Notes

  • Use low-sodium Spam if you prefer less salt.
  • Top with chopped scallions or a drizzle of sriracha for added flavor.
  • Serve over rice for a more filling meal.
