Description

For the Pizza:

  • 1 pizza dough for a 12-inch pizza
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 oz crimini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup fresh baby spinach leaves
  • 3 oz crumbled goat cheese
  • Sprinkle of sea salt
  • 1 tbsp thick balsamic vinegar

Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough and Oven:

  • Preheat oven to 550°F (290°C). Prepare the pizza dough according to your chosen recipe or package instructions.

2. Infuse the Dough with Garlic Oil:

  • Brush 2 tbsp olive oil evenly onto the prepared pizza dough.
  • Sprinkle minced garlic over the top for a flavorful base.

3. Sauté the Mushrooms:

  • Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add red pepper flakes and allow the oil to heat up.
  • Toss in sliced mushrooms and cook undisturbed for 2 minutes to brown one side. Flip and brown the other side.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

4. Assemble the Pizza:

  • Sprinkle 2/3 cup mozzarella cheese over the prepared dough.
  • Evenly distribute sautéed mushrooms and fresh spinach.
  • Add the remaining 1/3 cup mozzarella and sprinkle crumbled goat cheese on top.
  • Season the assembled pizza with a sprinkle of sea salt.

5. Bake the Pizza:

  • Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 13-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

6. Cool, Slice, and Drizzle:

  • Allow the pizza to cool for 3 minutes before slicing into 6 slices.
  • Drizzle with 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar and serve with extra red pepper flakes if desired.
