Scale
- 8 fresh lasagna sheets (or pre-cooked)
- 200g (7 oz) ham, thinly sliced
- 200g (7 oz) mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 50g (1.7 oz) Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 cups béchamel sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Butter, for greasing
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
- If using dry lasagna sheets, boil them according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and pat dry.
- Lay each lasagna sheet flat. Place a layer of ham and mozzarella cheese on top.
- Roll each sheet into a cylinder and then cut in half to create two shorter rolls (“roses”).
- Spread a thin layer of béchamel sauce on the bottom of the baking dish.
- Place the pasta roses upright in the dish, spiral side up, close together.
- Pour the remaining béchamel sauce over the roses. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving, if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute the ham with cooked bacon or smoked turkey.
- Add a few spinach leaves inside each roll for a fresh twist.
- Fresh lasagna sheets work best for easy rolling, but cooked dry sheets can be used too.
