- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder

- 1–2 eggs, beaten (optional, for a thicker coating)
For Frying (Optional):
- Oil for frying
For Serving:
- Favorite dipping sauces (e.g., ranch, spicy mayo, or sweet chili sauce)
Instructions
- Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar, crumbled bacon, chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Shape the Cheese Balls:
- Scoop out a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball using your hands. Place the balls on a baking sheet. Repeat until all the mixture is used (makes about 12–15 balls).
- Chill the Cheese Balls:
- Refrigerate the cheese balls for at least 30 minutes to allow them to firm up.
- Coat the Cheese Balls:
- Roll each ball in breadcrumbs until fully coated. For a thicker coating, dip the balls in beaten egg first before rolling them in breadcrumbs.
- Cook the Cheese Balls:
- To Fry: Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the cheese balls in batches for 3–4 minutes, or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- To Bake: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the cheese balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- Serve:
- Serve the cheese balls warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Spice Level: Adjust the number of jalapeños or use a milder pepper if you prefer a less spicy dish.
- Cheese Variation: Add shredded pepper jack or mozzarella for extra cheesiness.
- Make-Ahead Tip: Prepare the cheese balls ahead and freeze them uncoated. Fry or bake them straight from the freezer, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
