- 1 large apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), cored and sliced into 8 thin wedges
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- Caramel sauce or powdered sugar for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using).
- Brush each triangle with melted butter and sprinkle generously with the sugar mixture.
- Place one apple slice at the wide end of each triangle, sprinkle with chopped nuts if using, then roll up the dough around the apple slice.
- Brush the tops with more melted butter and sprinkle with any remaining sugar mixture.
- Bake for 13–15 minutes or until golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce or dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- Swap crescent dough with puff pastry for a flakier bite.
- Add a splash of vanilla or a dash of allspice to the sugar mix for extra flavor.
- Can be made ahead and reheated in the oven at 300°F for 5–7 minutes.
