Description

These crispy Air Fryer Bang Bang Salmon Bites are coated in a sweet and spicy bang bang sauce, making them a quick, flavorful, and crowd-pleasing seafood dish perfect for any weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Salmon Bites:

  • 1 1/2 lbs salmon (about 4 fillets), skin removed, cut into 1-inch bites
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • 1 cup (232 g) mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup (132 g) Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tsp Sriracha (or more to taste)
  • 2 tbsp honey

For Garnish:

  • Chives, chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
  • Season the Salmon:
    • In a large bowl, mix the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the salmon bites and toss gently to coat.
  • Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey.
    • Divide the sauce in half, reserving one portion for after the salmon is cooked. Toss the salmon bites in the remaining sauce to coat.
  • Cook the Salmon Bites:
    • Working in batches, arrange the salmon bites in an even layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overcrowd.
    • Air fry for 4–5 minutes on one side. Flip the bites and cook for another 4–5 minutes, or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 140–145°F.
  • Finish and Serve:
    • Transfer the cooked salmon bites to a serving plate. Drizzle with the reserved bang bang sauce and garnish with chopped chives.

Notes

  • Adjust Spiciness: Add more Sriracha for a spicier sauce or reduce it for a milder flavor.
  • Sauce Storage: The Bang Bang sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Alternative Cooking Method: Bake the salmon bites in a 425°F (220°C) oven for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
