Description

A Dirty Chai Latte is the best of both worlds: a warm, spiced chai tea latte boosted with rich espresso. It’s comforting, energizing, and deeply aromatic—perfect for chilly mornings or when you want your chai with a caffeine kick.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 chai tea bag or 2 teaspoons loose-leaf chai
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 shot espresso (or 1/41/2 cup strong brewed coffee)
  • 12 teaspoons maple syrup, honey, or sweetener (optional)
  • Optional: ground cinnamon or nutmeg for garnish

Instructions

  • Brew the Chai:
  • Steep chai tea in hot water for 5–7 minutes. Remove tea bag or strain.
  • Steam the Milk:
  • Heat milk until steaming (not boiling). Froth using a frother, whisk, or blender for a foamy top.
  • Combine:
  • In a mug, pour in the brewed chai. Add espresso shot and steamed milk.
  • Stir in sweetener if using.
  • Serve:
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make it iced: pour over ice and use cold brew or chilled espresso.
  • Use a chai concentrate for a stronger spice kick.
  • Double the espresso for a “Filthy Chai”!
