Description

Festive 4th of July cakesicles made with cake and frosting, dipped in red, white, and blue chocolate, perfect for patriotic celebrations.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box cake mix (any flavor)
  • Ingredients needed to prepare cake (usually eggs, oil, water)
  • 1/2 cup frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • 12 oz white chocolate or candy melts
  • Red candy melts
  • Blue candy melts
  • Sprinkles (red, white, and blue)
  • Cakesicle sticks
  • Cakesicle mold

Instructions

  1. Bake the cake according to the package instructions. Let it cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl and mix in the frosting until a dough-like consistency forms.
  3. Press the cake mixture into cakesicle molds, insert sticks, and freeze for 1-2 hours or until firm.
  4. Melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals until smooth.
  5. Remove the cakesicles from the molds and dip each one into the melted chocolate, tapping off the excess.
  6. Place on parchment paper and let the coating set.
  7. Melt red and blue candy melts and drizzle over the coated cakesicles or use piping bags for decoration.
  8. Add patriotic sprinkles before the drizzle hardens.
  9. Let set completely before serving or packaging.

Notes

  • You can use homemade cake and frosting if preferred.
  • Use gel food coloring if dyeing white chocolate instead of candy melts.
  • Store cakesicles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
